Clinton County is home to Wilmington College. Wilmington College is a tree-lined campus founded in 1870 by the Religious Society of Friends (Quakers). It was established Cincinnati in 1986 and has been serving the Clinton County Community for 130 years. More than 1,200 students are currently enrolled on the main campus and another 500 enrolled in other off-campus programs, including two branches in Cincinnati. In addition to attracting students from all over the United States, Wilmington College currently has students from seven foreign countries.
Students meet once per week for an entire semester. Accelerated courses are offered on weekday evenings and Saturdays. This Private liberal arts college offers bachelor degree programs in Business, education, agricultural business, recreation and fitness, and biological sciences. It Academic course is composed of the following classes: Agriculture (includes Equine Studies), Art, Athletic Training, Biology,Bus., Administration (Economics, Accounting), Communication Arts, Computer Science, Criminal Justice, Education, Graduate Program in Education , English, Health, P.E.,and Athletic Training and Sports Management, History, Liberal Studies, Mathematics, Modern languages (Spanish major), Music (minor only), Psychology, Religion and Philosophy (includes Peace Studies minor), Social and Political Studies (includes Pre-Law and International Studies), Social Work, and Theatre. Wilmington College tree-lined campus seeks to educate the whole person-intellectual, emotional, physical, and spiritual-in ways that foster critical thinking, reflection, the free exchange of ideas, open inquiry, tolerance, and a desire for lifelong learning.
