Clinton County has 9 Fire Departments and they are as follows: Blanchester Marion Township Fire District, Clarksville Volunteer Fire Department, Clinton South joint Fire District, Port William Fire Department, Wilmington Fire Department, Chester Twp New Burlington Fire Dept, Clinton Highland Joint Fire District, Martinsville and Clark Township Fire Department, and SRWW Joint Fire District 2.

Blanchester Marion Township Fire District is formed by 35 volunteers and one Fire Station. Clarksville Volunteer Fire Department is composed of 5 Firefighters and 2 volunteers and 2 Fire Stations. Clinton South joint Fire District has 2 Fire Stations, 5 Firefighter’s and 26 volunteers. Wilmington Fire Department has 2 stations, 18 Firefighters, and 20 Firefighters that are paid by call, and 2 volunteers. Chester Twp New Burlington Fire Dept has 7 volunteers, 24 volunteer Firefighters, and 2 stations. Clinton Highland Joint Fire District has 1 Fire Station, 26 Volunteer Firefighters, and 5 volunteers. Martinsville and Clark Township Fire Department has 1 station and 20 Volunteer Firefighters. SRWW Joint Fire District 2 has 12 Volunteer Firefighters, 6 Volunteers, and 1 station.

Port William Fire Department has one station that protects 2200 people living in a rural area of 28 square miles. This Fire Department has 12 Firefighters and 27 volunteers. Since 1960, the Fire Department has progressed from hand pumps and bucket brigades to the sophisticated firefighting equipment of our time. The Port William Fire Department provides the following services: Firefighting, Hazardous Material Response, ALS Emergency Medical Service, Vehicle Rescue (Extrication), and Search & Rescue.
